Strawberries

I went grocery shopping tonight. And being that I had yet to eat dinner and it was well past dinner time, the first tempting thing that I came upon were strawberries. So I just finished a healthy bowl of berries for dinner. My fingers still smell of strawberries...a nice fresh smell of the seasons ahead. The strawberries remind me that I am still a party of one...not making a full meal or even a semblance of a meal. Singledom is not where I want to be. I have many days where it does not bother me. The past week could not be included in those days. Yes the hormones could be a major contributing factor, but that is any easy answer. I guess all I can keep doing is pretend to be ok with it until I hit a day when I am really ok with it. Too bad strawberries can't cuddle up in bed with you.....or maybe they can but it could be messy.

Since....

My birthday was less than stellar due to the flu. This has become my unofficial birthday weekend. Yeah!!! Went hiking yesterday. Spent three hours in the woods with a nervous friend who thought we were going to be the leading story on the 11PM news. "Two young women lost in the woods on Lookout Mountain. Only the car left in the parking lot to indicate their existence...." I enjoyed the time out in the sun and fresh air immensely. And just like I kept telling her, if we follow the trail it will lead back to the beginning. It did.

I bought myself a birthday gift... a 19" LCD widescreen monitor. Very nice! I am loving the expansive screen, the vastness of viewing area and the ability to have several windows pulled up at once. And it works well for watching movies too.

Tonight I am going out to eat at a fabulous Italian restaurant with family. I think I shall have at least one glass of wine. There is also a chance that a certain guy will accompany me too. Happy "pseudo" birthday to me!
