Purging

Why do we keep all this stuff? I have been in the attic the past two days sorting and packing stuff. This is the second time in the past year I am moving. I found old letters from friends, my highschool boyfriend, my ex fiance, and old journals. (I thought I had already gotten rid of all those journals.) The stereo I bought myself with my confirmation money is still up there. I was 13! It has a turn table and cassette player which broke about two years after I bought the thing. It is going in the trash along with my skates from about the same time frame. Nick-nacks which have long ago lost their appeal will go to Goodwill. Old clothes are being carted off too. The cute pants I thought I would wear and never did will be banished. The whole process can be very cathartic. Although I did not realize that an old letter could bring back so many emotions from the past....
Moving day is May 7th.
