Chances

Just how many chances should you give someone to get something right. One...two...a dozen? Is it more to do with their sincerity to do the right thing rather than allowing yourself to be taken in again? Is it a character fault of your own to be gullible? Or do you go with a gut instinct to trust this person? I gave someone a third chance. It was a third from my perspective anyway. He said he did not blow the second. The first was many, many years ago. We figured it to be about ten. He said my perception that he stood me up on Saturday was different from his. I decided to go with it. Had a great evening talking...yes really...just talking, last night until 530am. Sleepy tonight, but also wishing he would call and ask to see me anyway.

How many chances? That's really such a hard question. T keeps doing the same thing that drives me insane. Well, he's done it about 4-5 times in 8 months. It baffles and infuriates me because he knows doing the same thing gets the same result...and it's not pretty. But...everything else? Makes up for it. At least, right now it does. I dunno if it's an indictment on me or not. I suppose if gets to that point when the bad outweighs the good? Maybe that's how it needs to be determined?
