It's ...ah....Odd to See You

Running into an ex the Sunday before last was like a drive by shooting. We had dated approximately 14 years ago; I had not seen him in a good 12 years. Out of nowhere comes my name. I turned around to see the source. Thinking back to that moment plays through my head in slow motion. Then seeing the source was a jolt to the system. He acted all happy to see me. I was incredulous. He couldn't be acting as if nothing went wrong between us. Is his perspective so skewed that he doesn't recall his abysmal behavior? He said we should get together for tea. Tea? Not that I don't enjoy tea on almost a daily basis, just was bizarre to hear that come from his mouth. A few days later he found me on myspace. The next evening I was out with friends to celebrate a birthday. Out of nowhere his name comes up in conversation from another person. The whole scenario is freaky. He sent me a note through myspace. I told him it was odd to see him. I get this in response. "It was nice seeing you, odd or not. I always liked you. You're looking great. " He always liked me? Then why did things end so badly? A sick part of me says I should meet up with him. Wanting to really know his perspective on the situation.

Maybe boys' brains are less able to handle reality than ours, so they make up their own.

If it will mess with your head to meet with him, I probably wouldn't do it. But if you know you'll be ok, no matter how it turns out, then... Tough choice, though.

(((hugs)))

I think boys are more prone to revisionist history...

Not so sure I'd be keen on revisiting the past because *I* never seem to forget.

Not exactly tan. George Hamilton need not lose sleep. Let's just say that Ubu and I have been doing a lot of jogging lately, and Yours Truly has not the good sense to use sunscreen. So, if you burn often enough... And next to Laurell, even a white bread boy like me looks downright ethnic. As far as this post, what's the old adage about changing stripes? Or is it spots? Peas.
